Advanced Art Boot Camp is a week-long intensive for the experienced visual artist. Taught by staff from The SAE’s award winning Digital and Visual Arts Department - student artists will spend the week in the studio working on individual projects and receiving reviews and critiques from peers, teachers, and even professional artists. Advanced Art Boot Camp is the perfect summer option for students who are on track for college BFA programs, upcoming AP Art Course placement, private career development and continue portfolio development. Utilizing the unique art resources of the Pomona Arts Colony and The SAE’s own professional art gallery, The Gallery at The Downtown Center - Advanced Art Boot Camp is the perfect summer program for the artist looking to take the next steps in their artistic career.

THE SAE’S SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE

The SAE’s Summer Dance Intensive is a professional, open studio environment for the experienced dancer. The program focuses on developing well-rounded dancers through exposure to a wide variety of disciplines professional training in Ballet, Cultural Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical. Students will be taught by renowned SAE faculty and guests artists, and enjoy a comprehensive curriculum that includes exposure to nationally award winning dance repertory. The rotating, professional dance studio style schedule will allow artists to choose their own schedule to best fulfill their creative desires. Classes offered during the following times: Monday/Wednesday 9:00am - 3:30pm, Tuesday/Thursday 9:00am - 12:30pm and Friday 1:00pm - 4pm.

The Musical Theatre Master Class with Phil Miller is a course designed for young performers who are preparing to live the actor’s life after high school. Open to ages 14-20, The Musical Theatre Master Class is perfect for students who will be auditioning for collegiate musical theatre programs, considering the option of pursuing musical theatre as a career, currently in college, students taking a gap year or students beginning their collegiate careers. Join The School of Arts and Enterprise’s Artistic Director, Phil Miller and his dynamic musical theatre workshop - working song interpretation, selecting the right “cuts” for auditions, navigating which college programs are right for you and focusing on every artist as the dynamic brand they are. The Summer Short Films at The SAE is a two-week long acting and filmmaking workshop designed to teach the fundamentals of performance and production. This workshop teaches the entire production process for both acting and filmmaking. Student Artists will learn the basics of acting for camera, screenwriting techniques, shot composition, and directing which culminates in a viewing of the short films created during the process. This course is designed for grades 8-12 and focuses on college preparatory work involving acting and creating films.

Summer Jazz at The SAE is a two-week summer jazz intensive that seeks to build facility in the jazz idiom. Topics covered include improvisation, big band performance practices, jazz theory, small combo playing, and a in depth look at jazz literature. Students will be taught from jazz method books, concert literature, and original music composed by SAE music faculty. The goal of the Summer Jazz at The SAE Workshop is to service high achieving music students and to continue the growth of our burgeoning competitive jazz and instrumental music departments.
